Flames Upon the Hill

The triptych takes the scene of the three crucifixions at Golgotha as its starting point. The recognizable figures are dissolved, while the bodies and crosses are fused into a single substance that embodies the moment of transformation, when an execution becomes more than an execution, the cross more than an instrument of death, and the event gives rise to an image that outlives it.
